FY 2024-2025 Budget
The FY 2024-2025 Library Budget is linked below. The Board held a public hearing about the budget at their regular meeting on May 20, 2024 at 7 p.m. The Library’s budget is primarily funded by a property tax millage. 1.08 mills to support the Library was renewed by Wixom voters in August 2016. Due to Headlee Rollbacks, the Library’s millage rate in FY 2024-2025 is 1.0666 mills. The Library operates on a July 1 – June 30 fiscal year.
Mission Statement
The Wixom Public Library serves the ever-changing needs of our diverse community with quality collections, services, and programs that support its informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs.
Library Board of Trustees
The Library Board of Directors is a six-member group elected by voters in Wixom. The Board serves a six-year term, with two of the positions elected every two years in November. Day-to-day operations of the Library are overseen by the Library Director and staff.
Board roles include:
• Controlling the expenditures of all Library funds
• Adopting an annual budget for the Library
• Appointing a Library Director
• Setting policies regarding the use of the Library
• Ensuring that adequate funding is provided
